Minburn & District Agricultural Society's 24th Annual Heifer Show & Bench Fair

It was a beautiful day for the Minburn & District Agricultural Society to hold its 24th Annual Heifer Show and Bench Fair on August 12. This included 8 - Heifer Calves Pen of 3 and 12 Yearling Heifers Pen of 3.

The judges this year were Melissa Hall from Vegreville and Paige Wildman from Sangudo.

There were 252 Bench Fair exhibits from 26 exhibitors with a payout of $829. The Winner of the best double crust pie was Colleen Berg with a Saskatoon pie.

Over the past 24 years since inception, Merial Canada has sponsored this event. This year the Overall Grand Champion received $250 plus 2 - 2.5 L of Ivomec a pour on for Cattle. The Overall Reserve Champion received $100 plus 2- 2.5 L of Ivomec.

The Minburn & District Ag Societies committee is ran by President, Teresa Jackson, Vice President, Cheryl Anderson, Treasurer/Secretary, Debbie Holden, Directors, Eric Anderson, Allan Nutt, Scott Anderson, Kelly Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Mark Anderson, Debbie Holden, Gene Drury and Mike Clarke.

It was a fun day for children too as they enjoyed the bouncy house. This year a new fun program included face painting and a children's own Bench Fair which was put on by M-M-I FCSS staff and summer students. The new program called 'Red Wagon Parent Link' challenged the parents and children to "Play AG. Fair" with the toys provided.

A Beef Supper followed the day's events.
