The 6th Annual TD Tree Day in Vermilion was held in the new commercial area near All Wheel Wash, Fountain Tire, the Pollinator Garden and Railway Avenue on September 21. Volunteers enjoyed the weather and CAO George Rogers said, “We are pleased to partner with our great corporate partner TD Canada Trust to do our part in beautifying our community and helping to combat climate change.” TD Bank staff and other community members enjoyed working alongside one another to plant trees and arrange soil and mulch to get them established. “We planted 85 trees and I’m amazed by the support from the volunteers that came out today. The Town brought the trees, dirt and dug holes for us. I would also like to thank Tim Hortons for donating coffee and timbits, as well as Boston Pizza, Sammy’s, Nicks and Express Pizza for sponsoring the Pizza for our lunch after the project,” said Vermilion TD Branch Manager, Marlene Beattie.
