Bonnyville will be holding chuckwagon races on August 5-8 and a chuckwagon Beerfest on Saturday of August 7.
The chuckwagons will be held at the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds and will feature four days of hoof-pounding excitement. On Thursday the grounds open at 5 p.m. with races starting at 7 p.m. Friday will be an action-packed day of fun with the Chamber Chili Cook-off from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Bonnyville. The grounds will once again open at 5 p.m. with the races starting at 7 p.m. A dance will be held starting at 9 p.m. featuring Kendra Kay.
Saturday morning will be kicked off with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at the rodeo grounds, (sponsored by Fountain Tire and Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority), the grounds open at 5 p.m. with an Old-Fashioned foot race (in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and is open to all ages, you can register with Les Parson by calling 780-691-6912 or by email lesparsonsgreen@yahoo.ca) at 6:30 p.m., chuckwagon races begin at 7 p.m. The Beerfest will start at 9.p.m. featuring The Road Hammers (with tickets available at the C2 Box office for $35.) and will be held at the Bonnyville Centennial Centre Fieldhouse.
On the last day, the grounds will open at noon with chuckwagon racing starting at 2 p.m. Attendees throughout the event can enter the 50/50 raffle, enjoy the beer gardens, concessions, and food trucks.
Admission for the event is 8 and under are free, youth - ages 9-17 is $15, Adult -(18+) is $20, Senior (65+) - $15. The Friday night dance is $10 admission.
