Taste Of Vermilion Draws Record Crowds To Downtown

n finally broke through on June 24, setting the stage for one of the busiest Taste of Vermilion celebrations to date.

Hosted by the Goodlife Institute, the annual event transformed downtown Vermilion into a lively gathering place as residents and visitors filled Main Street to enjoy local food, entertainment, shopping, and family activities.

This year’s Taste of Vermilion featured 16 food vendors, two beverage vendors, and 10 street vendors, offering a wide variety of local flavours and unique products. New to the event in 2026 was the inaugural Show and Shine, which attracted more than 40 classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and custom vehicles from across the region. The display quickly became a crowd favourite, with visitors spending much of the evening admiring the impressive collection.

The event continues to grow as a regional attraction, welcoming guests from Lloydminster, Cold Lake, Wainwright, Vegreville, and many surrounding communities, providing another opportunity to showcase everything Vermilion has to offer.

Live music from MAZZ Entertainment kept the atmosphere upbeat throughout the evening, with many visitors taking to the streets to dance and enjoy the warm summer weather.

Families found plenty to keep children entertained as VIBE offered face painting and interactive activities, while Fields Like Home Petting Zoo introduced visitors to a variety of friendly farm animals. Among the biggest attractions were six-day old calves that quickly became a favourite with young visitors.

Adding another layer of fun, One Red Nose and Ten Happy Toes brought beloved characters including Mario, Luigi, Pikachu, and Stitch to Main Street, stopping for countless photos with children and families.

The Goodlife Institute said the response from attendees, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers has been overwhelmingly positive. Strong attendance and enthusiastic community support continue to demonstrate the value of events that bring people together while highlighting local businesses, organizations, and community pride.

Organizers also acknowledge the many volunteers, participating businesses, entertainers, community partners, and sponsors whose support made the evening possible, noting that community events of this scale rely on widespread local involvement.
