St. Jerome’s School held their Annual Carnival in Vermilion on March 5. Hundreds of people gathered to support the students, and enjoyed the evening of festivities.

The Lakeland College Alumni Theatre was packed full of excitement as family and friends attended the St. Jerome’s School’s Christmas Concert on December 12. Vermilion Elementary School, St. Jerome’s School, and J.R. Robson School each hosted a Remembrance Day Ceremony in Vermilion on November 7.

Veterans, Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Vermilion Army Cadet Corps, Canadian Armed Forces, Government of Alberta Sheriffs, and School Trustees were among honoured guests. Students also participating in the ceremonies by laying wreaths and singing songs.

Congratulations and encouragement was shared as St. Jerome’s School held their graduation ceremony at the Vermilion Regional Centre on May 25. 
‘You had to be there,’ was the theme of the event, and as graduates approached the stage their favourite memories and plans for the future were shared. Principal Allan Chase emceed the event, and Vice Principal Allan MacMillan sang a special song to the class.

J. R. Robson School held their annual Fall Supper on November 1, with approximately 600 people attending.
Hosted for nearly 40 years, the meal was a fundraiser for the volleyball teams; and many students, parents, and staff helped prepare, serve, and clean up. When asked why she loves organizing this each year, Foods Teacher, Monique Hart said, “Because it’s my way to give back to the children.”
