The local participating artists have been putting the finishing touches to their work recently in preparation for the 7th annual Vermilion Spring Art Show on April 21 and 22.
The Chair of the Vermilion Spring Art Show Sandra Miller urged everyone to attend this year’s show to view the works and support the artists.
“Come out, enjoy a glass of wine and soak up the creative atmosphere with music performed by the talented singer/songwriter Catherine Lewans. There are huge talents within our community. This year’s art show won’t be as big as last year, but it will be just as good! Last year we had close to 60 artists showing, and this year we will have 50 artists.
We have some new artists coming, and a lot of the same artists who have shown before are coming back as well. We will have artists as far away as 100 kilometers attending, and we have a nice variety with both a combination of art market and artists. We will only have four to five men showing, I don’t know why but we are so dominated by women every year,” laughed Miller.

My father was an artist; it runs in our family. I have been doing art as far back as I can remember. Whatever inspires me at the time; I just paint, I just have fun with it. If you feel that you have this thing going in your head and you have to get it out – that’s art! I feel I am ridget as an artist; it takes me a lot of time to construct and research,” said Miller.
Meet the Artist Wine and Cheese will run from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. on April 21. The Art and Show Sale will be open from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Admission will be free.
