Wainwright Stampede Showdown Not To Be Missed

The 64th Annual Wainwright Stampede and Rodeo is all set to open another action packed Stampede running June 22 - 25 at the Wainwright Rodeo Grounds, hosted by Wainwright Stampede and Rodeo of Alberta. The four-day event will fill the grandstand nightly as fans cheered on the action.

A Showdown Not To Be Missed

The Wainwright Stampede, complete with the CPCA chuckwagon races, will take place next week from June 22-25.

Stampede President Murray Bretzer encouraged everyone to turn out for this year’s special 150 Stampede.

“All around it will be a great event for the whole weekend. We will have the rodeo slack and the chuckwagons starting on Thursday and running right through until Sunday. We have events every day and they are all good! We have a bunch of the big names entered and coming in for the Battle of the Buckles finals.

Hopefully, we’ll have some good weather and that the CPCA chuckwagons will get four days of good running. Our sponsorship has held its own this year, it’s been a little tighter all around, but we have the same great sponsors who have stuck by us through thick and thin. There will be some nice buckles and big pay cheques up for grabs. It’s a great showdown not to be missed,” said Bretzer.

The Agricultural Fair will take place at the Elks Hall on Thursday, June 22.

The Stampede Parade will take place on June 24 at 10 a.m. and the theme of this year’s parade will celebrate Canada’s 150th.

The Chuckwagon Race times are Thursday, June 22 at 5 p.m. Friday, June 23 at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at 5 p.m. and on Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m.
