Known as ‘the little hamlet with lots of heart,’ Clandonald will host their annual Country Fair on August 12.

Commemorating 40 years of the Clandonald Fair, 100 years of 4-H in Alberta, and Canada’s 150th Birthday, the theme of the fair is, ‘Let’s Celebrate!’

Events will include a pancake breakfast, an exhibit hall and goldmine as well as a parade, bingo, tractor pedal pushers, performances from Lakeland Pipes and Drums, The Prairie Dogs and Sean Watson-Master of Magic. More fun for children can enjoy face painting, Clandonald’s Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt, a bouncy house, laser tag, and races. If that wasn’t enough, you can amp up the country with their watermelon contest, mutton busting, and a pig contest.

The arena will be open on August 11, from 1 – 3 p.m. for people to drop off their entries.

“We welcome floats from any local and neighboring individuals, businesses and communities to meet at the Clandonald Community Hall at 11 am. There will be lots of activities for young and old to enjoy throughout the day,” said Susanne Martin.
