Dignitaries, family, and friends gathered at Rural Roots / Barnyard Creations to help celebrate their Grand Opening on November 23. “I’m ecstatic to have your business in town. It’s a really unique opportunity to offer the engraving, and it’s another business that has been able to move into our Main Street,” said Mayor, Caroline McAuley. The store opened in August and owner, Brenda Goad said, “It’s been busy with a lot of engraving, embroidery, and flowers. We look forward to continuing to serve the community throughout the holidays and in the coming years.” Guests enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies, and Councillor Robert Pulyk said, “It’s quite diversified.” Owner, Vern Goad, added that products have been sent all over Canada, the U.S.A., and Australia. Since being in Vermilion, they have also been creating more trophies and awards. “With a laser, there’’ so many avenues you can do, stone, granite, glass, wood, leather, or metal,” said Vern Goad. Floral designer, Donna Bielech said, “The embroidery is something the community needed and it is creative.” Embroidery specialist Donna Kiziak added, “Flowers are way of making people’s day for all occasions.”
