UCP Garth Rowswell – Open House

United Conservative Party (UCP) candidate Garth Rowswell held an Open House at his new Vermilion- Lloydminster - Wainwright constituency office in Vermilion on March 22. “We are ready for the election! We just had an enthusiastic board meeting and are putting out policies every day. From door-knocking, brochures, social media, and events around the constituency, I’ve been meeting people face to face and am thankful to be receiving pretty positive support,” said Rowswell. If elected, his goals will include getting rid of the carbon tax, addressing Bill-6 and how to deal with rural crime, as well as encouraging pipelines to get the oil industry going again. “Some regulations are useful to promote your business, but some get in the way for both the oil and agricultural industries. A lot of energy companies have sold their assets and left this country; we have to do what we can to bring these people back,” said Rowswell who hopes to reduce government regulation. When asked about the UCP scandal regarding Jason Kenney, Rowswell said that his experience with Kenney was that he laid out what he was going to do and followed it; and that he’s taking him at his word that he was not involved with financials. Constituents enjoyed having the opportunity to visit and discuss politics throughout the evening. Rowswell also met constituents at the Vermilion Valley Lodge on March 25, and will continue meeting constituents in Wainwright, Irma, Marwayne, Tulliby Lake, Kitscoty, Edgerton, and Dewberry in the coming weeks. A debate is scheduled at the Prairie Room of the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on April 3.
