Friday was a beautiful day to recognize and celebrate the last students of Clandonald School. The school, which has been in the Clandonald area in one form or another since the 1920s and came to reside in the present building in 1960, will be permanently closing on June 30.

The end of the school year has been full of fun activities that incorporated many places of the Hamlet, including snacks in someone’s yard, games throughout the community, a wagon ride through town and the parade on Friday after the final Grade 6 celebration. The students were also treated on Friday to their last lunch from the “Hot Ladies” as the students affectionately call the seniors who serve their hot lunches.
