At the Town Council meeting on September 7, Council appointed Kevin Lucas to the Chief Administrative Officer position effective that day.
“I’m excited to work with the Mayor and Council to help the Town of Vermilion achieve its strategic goals and I am very excited to lead the Town into the future,” commented Lucas.
Lucas originally from Wetaskiwin, joined the management team for the Town of Vermilion in September 2020 within the role of Community Services Director, most recently taking on the role of Interim CAO. Lucas has an extensive background in municipal government and is completing his MBA in Human Resources.
According to the Town of Vermilion over 20 applications were received for the position of CAO. All applications were screened by an anonymous process with Council narrowing the search to the top candidates and carrying out interviews.
