Vermilion Agricultural Society Opens Online Market

The Vermilion Ag Society has been looking for alternative ways to support the community this year.

“There have been conversations many times about ways the Ag Society can support the community while promoting our agricultural roots,” explained Ag Society Office Manager Nicole Templeton.

After many deliberations, the decision was made to pursue the idea of an online market for local vendors. Thus, the Cultivate Vermilion Click and Collect Market was born. The online market allows vendors to promote and sell products on the Cultivate Vermilion website and items purchased from the site are available for curbside pickup at the Ag Grounds.

“The market will allow those within a 100 km radius of Vermilion who grow, make or bake the items they wish to sell a place to have their items in a collective market,” Templeton added.

Via the Cultivate Vermilion Website, https://shop.vermilionag.ca/, vendors are able to view and list their items, and vendors receive notifications when their shop items have sold. The website also allows for personal interactions between vendors and customers, as it allows vendors to list contact information.

The Vermilion Ag Society also has some merchandise from previous fairs available for purchase on the market website.
