The Vermilion Masonic Lodge along with the Masonic Foundation of Alberta presented a cheque for $1,000 to the FOCUS Transportation Services for its Adopt-A-Ride program as a result of their fundraising efforts.

The Adopt-A-Ride program is a program that helps make it possible for persons who can not afford the service fee required for the use of the transportation services to their medical appointments. In the Adopt-a-Ride program FOCUS sets aside donated funds for persons from vulnerable sectors, ensuring their medical needs are met.

“We have decided to do an ongoing yearly sponsorship to the FOCUS Adopt-a-Ride program, and with the agreeance from the Masonic Foundation of Alberta to match this six month portion of the yearly donation we were able to give $1000 instead of $500,” commented Mason Darcy Balaneski.

Program Director-Special Project, Dawn Riley expressed her gratitude for the significant donation.

“We are extremely grateful for this donation from both the Vermilion Masonic Lodge and the Masonic Foundation of Alberta. The Vermilion Masonic Lodge yearly contribution to our Adopt-a-Ride program has a significant positive impact for the residents of the Vermilion community,” commented Riley.
