Enchanted Exhibition By Photographer Greg Haslehurst

An exhibition showcasing the work of Photographer Greg Haslehurst is currently running at the Vermilion Public Library. People are invited to view the show which started November 1 and runs until Friday, December 2.

Haslehurst is a well-known teacher at Vermilion Elementary School, where he teaches the Grade 4 students, as well as instructing the Raptor Taekwondo. He has taught photography workshops for CLASS, as well as various community groups and private photography lessons.

The exhibition showcases his different styles of photography ranging from ‘Galapagos Marine Iguanas’ wildlife to ‘Ghost Town’ artistic recreation using Photoshop, as well as some recent work from the ‘Enchantment Series.'

“Enchantment Series’ is some of my favourite work. I am excited to offer this specialized photography to my clients. Your child experiences a fun imaginative photo shoot, and the result is, beautiful art to display in your home,” said Haslehurst.

“I started photography as a young boy when I would go for walks with my dad taking pictures. Being surrounded by nature allows us to appreciate the world’s diversity and complexity. As a photographer, I learned to see the fine details and patterns that would be found in a scene; I enjoy photography because I am in control of choosing when to click the camera and capture that precise moment.

Nature photography is challenging because you need planning and patience to find the opportunities to photograph animals or bring out the interesting features of a scene.Event and sports photography are rewarding when capturing the peak of the action or emotion of an event. Family portraits can range from formal sessions to photographing your activities on locations. The experiences and memorable moments created during the family portrait session makes for an enjoyable time photographing the special people in your life,” explained Haslehurst.

He says the best advice he can offer someone who wishes to take up photography is to “take your camera everywhere or even if it’s just using your camera phone.”

He says that although his photography business is not his main source of income, it’s a passion that he loves and that he would love to grow his business. People can call Greg to take photographs of sports teams, or for a high school grad or family portraiture.

If you wish to avail of Greg’s services you can find contact info and work examples online at www.greghaslehurstphotography.com or by calling 780 853 1998.
