There’s something special about a small-town fall supper. The smell of a home-cooked meal, the sound of friendly conversation and the chance to sit down with neighbours and friends make these gatherings a cherished rural tradition.

That tradition continued in Clandonald on Friday, October 16, as residents gathered at the Clandonald Community Hall for the annual Fall Supper.

Guests enjoyed a hearty home-cooked meal featuring roasted turkey, meatballs, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, turnips, salads, pickles and buns, followed by dessert.

Behind the scenes, local volunteers put in plenty of time and effort preparing and serving the meal, helping make the evening an enjoyable one for everyone who attended.

For many, the supper is an annual tradition and a chance to catch up with familiar faces. For others, it’s an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a worthwhile community cause.

This year’s event also served as a fundraiser, with proceeds going toward renovations to the Clandonald Community Hall.

Guests could further support the project by purchasing tickets for a 50/50 draw and hamper draws, while cash donations were also welcomed.

The hall has long been a gathering place for celebrations, special occasions and community events, making the planned improvements an investment in its future.

As the evening wound down, the annual supper once again showed how a good meal, dedicated volunteers and a little community spirit can bring people together while helping preserve an important part of small-town life.
