The junior high students at JR Robson High School were able to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine on May 18 while they competed in their school track and field meet. With the help of staff and high school volunteers, athletes in grades 7 to 9 competed in various track distances, hurdles, discus, long jump, high jump, and shot put events. A lunch concession and snacks were available for the students, volunteers and family members that were there to cheer the athletes on.
Teacher Mr. Woodward was happy the day went well, “Thank you to all the staff, students, and volunteers who made the day a terrific success. We had some luck with the weather and it was great to see kids out there competing and having fun. They were all great ambassadors to our school.”
Wednesday’s event was an in-school event, Friday, May 27 the Highway 16 competition takes place at JR Robson, and the top four athletes from each event that day advance to the Buffalo Trail Public Schools finals on June 2.
