The Vermilion Community Art Club recently held a two-day advanced mixed-media painting class for its members. The class took place on Friday, April 28 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members had the opportunity to learn and practice their painting techniques using acrylic paint, acrylic gels, acrylic inks, and Japanese paper. The class was taught by seasoned artist Justina Smith, who has been an artist for 23 years and has been teaching for 15 years.
Smith is well-versed in different mediums, including acrylic and watercolour, Gouache, spray paint, paint marker, colour pencils, and ballpoint pen. She also has paintings in galleries all across Canada. Her passion for her craft made the class amazing, and the members of the Vermilion Community Art Club were thrilled to have her as their instructor.
Eraine Wegiel, a member of the club, said, “It was an amazing experience for everyone in the club who was able to attend and to have Justina come and teach us different mixed-media techniques. It was very informative and fun to participate in the class.”
