The Vermilion Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club hosted their 2nd Annual Snowmobile Drag Races by the SSRA at the Vermilion Airport on January 25 - 26.
Racers from all over Alberta and Saskatchewan attended and enjoyed the two days of excitement. Straightline Snowmobile Racing Associate (SSRA) ran the sanctioned races with classes for professionals and amateurs. The event was family friendly with racers of all ages.

The 2nd Annual SSRA Snowmobile Races in Vermilion will be hosted by the Vermilion Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club on January 25 - 26, at the Vermilion Airport. While still using the Vermilion Airport they have moved the location to the east end of the runway. Access will be at the intersection of 48th Avenue and Range Road 63. The Vermilion Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club held their 8th Annual Snowmobile Expo at the Vermilion Regional Centre on November 30.
Sleds and approximately 400 spectators came from all over Alberta and Saskatchewan. One sled came from British Columbia, and a spectator from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

The Vermilion Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club hosted the first SSRA race of the season at the Vermilion Airport on January 27.
Even with poor snow conditions, approximately 75 sleds registered, and Straightline Snowmobile Racing Associate (SSRA) owner, Dale Roger said, “We’re thrilled to be here in Vermilion. I was here for the vintage show, and raced here many years ago. Vermilion has always been a great place to come!”

The Vermilion Ridge Riders held their 7th Annual Snowmobile Expo at the Vermilion Regional Centre on December 1.
Hundreds of people from all over Alberta and Saskatchewan attended, and were excited to check out 104 vintage snowmobiles, as well as check out new machines and gear.
