Cars, Community And A Cause Come Together In Kitscoty

Main Street in Kitscoty was anything but quiet Wednesday evening, Aug. 26, as a large crowd came out for an evening of classic vehicles, live music and a community barbecue in support of a new free library.

Hosted at Farmstead Market, the event brought people downtown throughout the evening, with the Farmstead hopping as residents stopped in for something to eat, checked out the vehicles and spent time visiting with friends and neighbours.

The barbecue ran through the early evening, with proceeds going toward a new free library for the community. The fundraiser drew plenty of support, with a steady crowd gathering around the Farmstead and along Main Street.

The Just Kruzin Specialty Vehicle Club was also a major draw, and the number of vehicles that arrived quickly filled the space set aside for the show. Cars lined both sides of the street, with another two rows parked down the centre. Even that wasn’t enough room, with additional vehicles parking at either end, outside the barriers.

The impressive turnout gave visitors plenty to see as they made their way up and down Main Street. Some stopped to talk cars and restoration work with owners, while others simply wandered through the rows, taking in everything from familiar classics to unique specialty vehicles.

Between the barbecue, live entertainment and an impressive showing from Just Kruzin, there was rarely a quiet spot around Farmstead Market & More. The large turnout for both the fundraiser and car show turned an ordinary Wednesday evening into a busy community gathering.

More importantly, the evening gave residents a chance to support the new free library while enjoying some good food, great vehicles and live entertainment.

It was the kind of summer evening that showed what can happen when a fundraiser, a car club, local entertainment and a community are willing to show up and work together.
