Fall Community Registration Night Draws Strong Turnout
The Servus Sports Centre was busy on Sept. 2 as Lloydminster residents came out to explore the many opportunities available throughout the community during the Fall Community Registration and Information Night.
Thirty five clubs and organizations were on hand for the evening, giving residents the chance to meet representatives, ask questions and learn more about programs, activities and services available in the city.
The event brought together a wide range of organizations, including local sports groups, recreation programs, non-profits, community support services, clubs and businesses.
There was a great turnout from the community, with families and individuals taking time to walk through the facility, visit the different booths and explore options that might interest them for the coming fall and winter seasons.
For some, the evening was an opportunity to find a new activity for their children or family, while others were looking for volunteer opportunities, a new hobby or information about community resources.
A new Event Passport Challenge also encouraged attendees to make their way around the event. Visitors who stopped at 10 different booths and collected the required stamps could enter their completed passport for a chance to win a prize.
The free evening provided an opportunity for residents to discover what is happening in Lloydminster while also connecting local organizations with the people they serve.
With a steady stream of residents exploring the booths, the event highlighted the number of ways people can get involved and stay connected in the community.
