Bowtell Community Hall welcomed families, friends and neighbours on Saturday, July 11 for its annual Family Fun Day.
The free event began at noon at the hall, located at the corner of Township Road 510 and Range Road 60. Burgers and hotdogs were provided for the potluck barbecue, while guests helped complete the meal by bringing side dishes to share.
The community gathering offered a relaxed way for people of all ages to spend time together. As lunch was served, guests visited over plates of food, caught up with familiar faces and enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere that small community events are known for.
Once the meal wrapped up, the afternoon continued with activities for the whole family. Children had the chance to enjoy the bouncy castle, while lawn games and prizes added to the fun. Guests were encouraged to bring lawn chairs and settle in for an afternoon of visiting, laughter and outdoor activities.
The event gave longtime residents an opportunity to reconnect while also making space for new faces to feel welcome. Whether guests joined in the games, watched the children play or simply spent time visiting, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Family Fun Day once again highlighted the importance of community gatherings in rural areas. Events like this create opportunities for neighbours to slow down, share a meal and strengthen the connections that help keep small communities vibrant.
Thanks went out to the organizers and volunteers who helped prepare the food, coordinate the activities and ensure the day ran smoothly.
Bowtell’s Family Fun Day was a simple but meaningful reminder that good food, shared laughter and time spent together can go a long way in bringing a community closer.
