The Vermilion Folk Club is eagerly awaiting September 18, when they will be hosting Lennie Gallant at 3 p.m. Gallant has been inducted into the Canadian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and has had multiple Juno nominations.
From the east coast, the bilingual artist plays Celtic, folk, rock, and Americana. His 14 albums are widely recognized and Jimmy Buffet said, “Lennie Gallant is one of my favourite Canadian Songwriters. I have always wanted to bring his music to the forefront.”
In 2016 he was named the Canadian Folk Artist of the Year, and in 2017 he was named the East Coast Music Award’s Entertainer of the Year. Aside from having his music featured on television shows and movies, one of his albums was sent to the international space station with astronaut Julie Payette who is now the Governor General of Canada. He has toured with various symphonies and performed all over North America, Europe, and in Afghanistan for the troops.
Members of the Vermilion Folk Club are very pleased to have Gallant play in Vermilion and are really looking forward to the show, saying he’s of very high calibre talent but also very down to earth. Tickets are $30 and are available at Copper Cork Distillery and Vermilion Credit Union. For more information you can visit https://lenniegallant.com/
