The Clandonald Agricultural Society held its Clandonald Country Fair under beautiful weather conditions on August 6.

The theme was ‘Breaking Loose’ and it was certainly represented in some of the floats in the parade which happened at 11:30 a.m.

Before the parade attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a pancake breakfast that consisted of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausages for $12 a plate which was in support of the Ag Society.

Also prior to the parade, the Prairie Dogs entertained the crowd with country, rock, and Celtic music, which had children dancing to the beat and young and elderly tapping their feet and singing along. Face painting was also available for each to enjoy, and children had fun digging in the sand pit for treasures.

In the afternoon there were many activities for attendees take-in such as the bouncy house, boxing ring, and joust arena, Clandonald Fire Department demo, laser chasers, tractor pedal pushers, the Joe Show, mutton busting, and bingo. The watermelon eating contest was another hit this year as it has been in previous years. Performances from the Prairie Dogs, and Lakeland Pipes and Drums were also in the afternoon.

Throughout the day a lot of smiles were seen and laughter could be heard while many families made memories that will last a lifetime.
