Hunt Mania Draws Strong Crowds For First Vermilion Show
The Vermilion Regional Centre was a busy place over the weekend as the Hunt Mania Gun and Sportsman Show made its first appearance in Vermilion from October 30 to November 1, drawing a great turnout of outdoor enthusiasts from the community and surrounding areas.
With well over 40 vendors filling the venue, visitors had plenty to see and explore throughout the three-day event. From hunting and fishing equipment to camping gear, firearms, archery supplies, knives and outdoor accessories, the show offered a wide selection of products for both experienced hunters and those just getting started.
The timing couldn’t have been much better, with deer hunting season getting underway in the area. For many hunters preparing to head into the field, the show provided an opportunity to check out equipment, pick up a few last-minute supplies and perhaps find something new to add to their hunting gear.
While hunting and fishing were certainly at the heart of the event, there was much more to discover. Vendors also offered military surplus, crafts, artwork, specialty foods, spices and a variety of other products, making the show appealing to more than just avid hunters. Visitors could take their time browsing the tables, chatting with vendors and discovering items they might not come across in their everyday shopping.
A silent auction added another element to the weekend, giving attendees an opportunity to place bids while enjoying everything the show had to offer.
Throughout the weekend, the Regional Centre saw a steady flow of visitors, with people stopping to visit with vendors, comparing products and sharing their interests in hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Events like this also provide an opportunity for vendors to connect directly with customers, answer questions and showcase their products in person.
Organized by Hunt Mania Show Productions, the Vermilion event was one of 16 shows held by the organization this year, with plans already underway to expand to 18 shows in 2027. The shows travel to communities throughout Alberta and British Columbia, bringing together vendors and outdoor enthusiasts who share a passion for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation.
Adding Vermilion to the schedule for the first time gave local residents and those from surrounding communities an opportunity to experience the show close to home, rather than travelling to larger centres.
The strong attendance and variety of vendors helped make Hunt Mania’s first visit to Vermilion a busy weekend, with the show wrapping up Sunday afternoon after three days of shopping, conversation and shared enthusiasm for the outdoors.
With hunting season on the minds of many local residents, the event was a timely addition to Vermilion’s fall calendar.
