Dr. Cory Neumann, owner of Neudale Veterinary Services, has recently taken over ownership of the veterinary clinic in Dewberry, Alberta.

“I have always wanted to work at my chosen profession in rural Alberta and near where I call home,” Dr. Neumann explained. Dr. Neumann has lived mainly in the local area, first around St. Paul, and most recently near Myrnam, where his grandfather, Steve Ewanec, and extended family farm.

Dr. Neumann worked for previous clinic owner Dr. Brenda Spark during the summers while in university, and worked for another year under Dr. Spark after completing his education. Dr. Spark will continue to work at what is now called Neudale Veterinary Services, but was more than happy to hand the reins of ownership to Dr. Neumann with full retirement on the horizon.

Dr. Neumann considers the clinic a family business, as he co-owns it with his wife Gina. The couple has their hands full both in their professional and personal lives as they care for their five-month-old daughter.

“We are very excited to be part of the community, providing animal care for farm and family,” Neumann said.

The couple have received much support from family members who helped position them for success, and are grateful for the opportunity to be involved in a local business venture that is already well established.

The name of the clinic was inspired by Dr. Neumann’s grandfather, Helmuth Neumann, who owned Neudale Dairy Farms for many years near St. Paul. The clinic logo was inspired by his grandfather’s cattle brand. In his time working for Dr. Spark, Dr. Neumann also gained experience and grew a liking to working with companion animals. He and his wife have two dogs and many cats at home.

“I enjoy being a mixed veterinarian, and look forward to providing care and treatment to both large and small animals,” Neumann stated.

The clinic has been closed during the transition with the exception of emergency calls since August 22. The clinic reopens on September 1 with regular office hours of Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Emergency on-call is available after office hours. You can reach the clinic at 780-847-4071 or info@neudalevet.ca
