With the imminent arrival of the May long weekend, the Rotary Club’s fourth year of the Flag Project is right around the corner. Since Canada’s 150th Birthday, the fundraising project has grown in popularity every year.

“We are grateful and appreciative of people backing us with this project for so long and allowing us to keep it going,” stated Laurel Wynnychuk.

This year the proceeds from the Flag Project are funding several community programs, including all four local schools breakfast and lunch programs and the food bank.

For $60 the Rotary club will place a Canadian flag on a front lawn every long weekend of the summer; Victoria Day, Canada Day, August Long, and Labour Day. The flags are usually placed sometime between the Tuesday and Thursday before the weekend and picked up shortly after the following Monday.

To order your flag, please visit their Facebook page, website, https://portal.clubrunner.ca/485, stop in at Modern Edge Painting Ltd, or contact Erwin at 780-214-8324.
