Vermilion Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament A Success Despite Stormy Weather

Despite weather forecasting rain all week the Vermilion Lions 27th Charity Golf Tournament proved to be another successful community event. Held on June 5 at the Vermilion Golf and Country Club the event witnessed only a brief moment of heavy rain and wind as a traditional part of the overall experience.

Golfers initially teed off under a nice cloudy day but after a few holes the weather quickly changed. Heavy clouds rolled in from multiple directions bringing torrential rain and wind creating challenging play conditions. Several golfers demonstrated their skills by persevering, while others returned to the Club House for refreshments. Fortunately, it did not take long for the weather to change again and all golfers were able to finish their holes under relatively comfortable conditions.

“This year The Vermilion Lions Club chose to support The Kids with Cancer Society (KWCS) and Stars Air Ambulance as benefitting charity organizations for our event. We made this decision taking guidance from Lions International principles of supporting wellness and those in need while prioritizing a local impact.” Said Vermilion Lions Golf Tournament Chairperson Tyson Tschauner
