Vermilion Lions Club Hosts Walk For Dog Guides Event

After being postponed the previous week due to torrential rain, the Vermilion Lions Club’s annual Walk for Dog Guides took place on June 7 under beautiful weather conditions and drew a a good turnout from the community.

Held at the CN Station in the Vermilion Provincial Park, the event welcomed participants of all ages, along with their four-legged companions, for an afternoon focused on supporting an important cause while enjoying time outdoors together.

The Walk for Dog Guides raises essential funds to provide specially trained Dog Guides to Canadians living with medical and physical disabilities. These highly trained dogs assist with a variety of needs including canine vision, hearing, service, seizure response, Autism assistance, diabetic alert, and facility support. Funds raised during the event go directly toward the training and placement of these life-changing animals.
