Zayn’s Diner Plus marked a major milestone on Saturday, April 18, celebrating its first anniversary with a lively parking lot party that brought the Vermilion community together for a good cause.

Held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the celebration featured a DJ, face painting, and a wide selection of food including barbecue hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, pop, water, juice, and ice cream, along with a birthday cake to mark the occasion. With pleasant weather throughout the day, a steady crowd gathered to enjoy the festivities, creating a welcoming and upbeat atmosphere.

In the spirit of giving back, all food items were offered by donation, with proceeds directed toward Vermilion schools’ hot lunch programs. The initiative was well supported by attendees, contributing to what organizers described as a successful fundraiser.

Following the event, Zayn’s Diner Plus shared a message of gratitude on social media, expressing appreciation for the community’s continued support.

“THANK YOU, VERMILION. Yesterday was a day we won’t forget. Celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary with all of you truly meant the world to us.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support, grab a burger or hotdog, and spend the day with us. This past year has been more than we could have ever asked for, and it’s all because of this amazing community.

A special thank you as well to everyone who helped us during the BBQ — we couldn’t have done it without you.

We’re also happy to share that the fundraiser was a success, and all proceeds will be going towards supporting local school hot lunch programs for students.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an incredible first year. We’re excited for many more to come.

— Zayns Diner”

The anniversary event not only highlighted the diner’s first year in business but also reinforced its connection to the community, bringing people together for an afternoon of food, fun, and local support.
