Nominations for the Annual Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards are open until September 15. These awards given by the Alberta Government recognize Albertans whose volunteer efforts have contributed to the well-being of their community and fellow community members. Two awards are granted to the categories of youth, adults and seniors each year in December around International Volunteer Day. Awards are also given in the Breaking Barriers category to community members who are working to build diverse and inclusive communities and volunteer in the areas of addressing racism, advocating for LGBTQ2S and inclusion, and fighting gender discrimination. If you know someone in our community who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts, nominate them!
