The Vermilion Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club hosted their 3rd Annual Snowmobile Drag Races in conjunction with Straightline Snowmobile Racing Associate at the Vermilion Airport on February 19.

Sixty-five racers from all over Alberta and as far away as Ontario brought 82 machines and enjoyed the day of racing excitement. Straightline Snowmobile Racing Associate (SSRA) ran the sanctioned races with classes for professionals and amateurs. The event was family-friendly with racers of all ages and cash prizes were awarded to the finalist.

Vermilion Ridge Riders Co-vice president, Devin Snelgrove said, “There was a broad array of snowmobiles that attended, everything from a 120cc kids sled to $50,000 purpose-built mod sleds. We’re thrilled with the outcome, with the help from our sponsors Lethal Motor Sports, Canadian Diesel Online, GIT-R- DONE Trucking and Snelgrove Construction Ltd. as well as the Town of Vermilion for the location and Alberta Parks for the groomer!”
